All the usual sites with lyrics say "not a joker's shop" when it's obviously "not a joke shop", so well done for getting that right, but I'm still not convinced by "Miss Clay on all corners", mainly because it makes no sense. I always heard it as "Miss Clay from the corner has just walked in" and I still think that's right.
I believe that the chorus is about going to a whore house, the so mentioned "house of fun" but the verses is our protagonist trying to buy some condoms without people noticing for say Whore house.
